London Gig Guide 20/08/2026

 

Bit of an odd week for gigs and I’m still looking around to fill this out a little more. I’m going to be in the Dev most of the weekend starting from tonight when Mur roll into Camden. For some reason they couldn’t play Arctangent and were replaced by the awesome Kulk and no ones really said why. I think they’re expecting a lot of people to show up for that one so, even though its free there are tickets on Dice, and entry is first come first serve so, get down early to avoid disappointment.

Gigs coming up over the next few weeks that are worth a shout out: Helstar are playing the Black Heart Monday 31st with Sanhedrin and Kaine in support. Also next week is the London Metal Coalition’s ‘Coalition Fest’ at Signature Brew Blackhorse Road. The line up for that looks fucking amazing which includes Karnivrous, Aggro, Consumed, Grifter, Die Kur, Cariad, Soldiers of Rage to name a few over two days (check out my review of last year’s fest). On 19th September the Black Heart has an event called Fill the Void which so far has announced <code>, Wolfbastard and Sidious with more to be announced. Ceremonial Bloodbath and Cryptworm have also announced a gig at the Black Heart for 19th October, and two days after that Hollow Moon present Stormo and Believe in Nothing co-headliner. Hollow Moon also have the first London headline gig from Dimscua with Hundred Year Old Man and Cairns suppoting. 

Staying with Hollow Moon, they also just announced the first wave of bands for next years edition of Cruel and Unusual which is all dayer at the Black Heart with Unyeilding Love, Violencia and Wren. I went to this years which had a secret headline set from Believe in Nothing as well as the return of The Suns Journey Through the Night along with Healing Wound, Calligram, Oryx, Death Goals... and was an awesome carefully curated event and as you can see they get some great undrground names. Early bird tickets are already up and selling fast.

Scouring the internet to keep the Metalheads entertained over the weekend. Saturday has loads going on including the return of Snuff Fest which ironically most of us thought was dead. The Dev in Camden has a DJ night on Friday but back to live bands for Saturday and Sunday. Tales of Perdition are opening for Grace Hayhurst on the 26th which promises to be an exciting one. London Gig Guide 24/04/26

W hilst  my personal life currently in  tatters,   it's  been difficult to get my head together long enough to get a blog together. But its Friday,  I'm  suspended from work till fuck knows when so,  going to  hyper focus on this for a  bit. There are three straight nights of  Thrash/ Deathcore / Hardcore /Death Metal   at the Dev .  Symbyote  are playing  Friday and Sunday  supporting 1986  with vocalist Dan’s other band the Slaughtering  with whom he plays guitar. Saturday  will be Thrash heavy with   Halberd   and  the aptly named  Thrash  Mob  along with one man battering machine Heart Ripper .  And  that's  just the Dev... London Metal Gig Guide 24/07/26

Almost didn’t get to the gig guide this week but managed to throw it together last minute. Interesting mix of shows this week with a couple of showcases at the Cart and Horses in Stratford. Always good to see an iconic venue like the Cart and Horses, famous for being the launchpad of Iron Maiden putting the spotlight on the next generation. As it’s the one-year anniversary of the Ozzy’s death, both Hegis (Saturday £8.24 via Dice) in Hackney and the Imperial Place of Big Red (Friday, free entry) in Camden have tribute nights in honour of him. I mentioned it last week but Sunday will be the matinee showcase headlined by Call of Fenrir, which is family friendly, of course young scrotes need to be accompanied by an adult. Personally, I’m going to be lurking around the Dev on Saturday for Red Eyed Cult  but, there is also some mystic Asian badassery happening, with two gigs from the world tour from Isileil which I hadn’t heard of until today.
