Exaust with Bloodsaw @ the Dev 05/09/2025




Camden Town's Devonshire Arms has fresh month the gigs lined up and tonight gets off to Thrash Metal start. Excorcism were supposed to be on the bill but ufortunatly didnt make it. Manchester’s Bloodsaw play unforgiving old school Blackend Speed Thrash Metal that feels like you’ve been taken back in time to of high-top trainers and Metal fringes. They smash through an eleven-song set that includes songs Bow Down and Deadly Speed from last year’s self-titled EP, some new tracks PTSD, Midnight and covers of Slayer’s Repentless and Antichrist.


Exaust from South Wales were at the Dev just a few months ago opening for Thrasherwolf, have returned in the headline slot to decimate north London with a brand of Thrash that comes served with a hint of Death Metal. Samshing through set made up of recent EP release Abysmal Earth with tracks Sworn to Silence, Open Wound churning nicely with older tracks the Pharoah and Toxic War as the pit two-steps and slams into oblivion, ending with an impromptu cover of Slayer’s Raining Blood.

W hilst  my personal life currently in  tatters,   it's  been difficult to get my head together long enough to get a blog together. But its Friday,  I'm  suspended from work till fuck knows when so,  going to  hyper focus on this for a  bit. There are three straight nights of  Thrash/ Deathcore / Hardcore /Death Metal   at the Dev .  Symbyote  are playing  Friday and Sunday  supporting 1986  with vocalist Dan’s other band the Slaughtering  with whom he plays guitar. Saturday  will be Thrash heavy with   Halberd   and  the aptly named  Thrash  Mob  along with one man battering machine Heart Ripper .  And  that's  just the Dev... UK Death Dealers Present in association with London Metal Coalition: The Road to London Metal Pride. Signiture Brew, Haggerston 06/12/25

Gay Pride 2025 was the first ever London Metal Pride event, celebrating queer musicians in the scene. The Metal and Hardcore scenes have seen rise in non-binary, queer and trans folk in recent years so having a stage during the summers biggest LGBTQ+ event is as integral now as ever before. The event in 2025 was hosted by LMC member and Davghter Front-woman Izzy and showcases queer and queer aligned bands battling for a place for the 2026 London Metal Pride. Five bands compete (was six but one pulled out) with London True Trans Black Metal band Davghter as special headliners. But it’s the punters who will decide the outcome as each have been given a voting chip to be placed in ballot boxes after the fifth band finished. Opening contenders Scene It All delivered some punchy late 90s/early 00s nostalgic Emo Pop Punk.
