London Gig Guide 22/01/26

Now we've passed the 85th day of January things are getting busy in London again. The weather forecast is for a wet weekend, doesn’t mean you have to have a face like one. Plenty to do to be crush those January blues. 

Thursday 22/01/26:
Urne will be at Raven Records giving fans a play through of their new album Setting Fire to the Sky, giving you the chance to pre-order the album and pick up some exclusive merchandise. And because its at Raven Records there will of course be opportunity to part with more money thanks to their well stocked shop and alcohol free/coffee bar.
Hard hitting EBM duo Youth Code are playing Downstairs at the Dome in Tuffnel Park along with King Yosef amd Streets Sects. The Dome (downstairs) £29.61 available via Dice

Friday 23/01/26:
The weekend kicks off nicely with a large serving of Thrash Metal thanks to the LMC’s Battle of the Brew ‘Thrashuary’ with Thrasherwolf/Halberd/Day 40/Soldiers of Rage- Signiture Brew Black Horse Road – Free Entry (but you can register your interest via Dice)
Over at the other Signiture Brew in Haggerston there is swampy sludgy Doom from Froglord/Kushthulhu/Troll Mother – £13.26 via Dice
Metalcore fans should head over to Camden’s Black Heart for Iridium/swarm6ix/Swarmed/Depolarise – £11.54 via Dice

Saturday 24/01/25:
Heavy Psychedelic Doom from Sleeping Mountain/The Fires Below/plus another act to be announced – the Dev, free entry
Progressive Heavy Alt-Rock weirdos Opensight are playing a release party for their new live album the Grindhouse Tapes. They're supported by Deity and Devilry, Fracture Point and Hemlock. Thats four very different sounding bands to keep you entertained at the Cart and Horses for £8, via We Got Tickets
Death Metal legends Cryptopsy are headlining the O2 Academy in Islington. Brutally devastating support comes from 200 Stab Wounds, Inferi and Corpse Pile – £30.76 via Dice

Sunday 25/01/26:
The competition is heating with Metal 2 the Masses heat 4: 40 Days of Rage/Death Valley Knights/Midwitch Cuckoos – The Dev


Tuesday 27/01/26:
London Death Metallers Mutagenic Host are headlining the Black Heart in Camden supported by Infected Dead and Smouldering Tomb – £15 via Dice

Scouring the internet to keep the Metalheads entertained over the weekend. Saturday has loads going on including the return of Snuff Fest which ironically most of us thought was dead. W hilst  my personal life currently in  tatters,   it's  been difficult to get my head together long enough to get a blog together. But its Friday,  I'm  suspended from work till fuck knows when so,  going to  hyper focus on this for a  bit. There are three straight nights of  Thrash/ Deathcore / Hardcore /Death Metal   at the Dev .  Symbyote  are playing  Friday and Sunday  supporting 1986  with vocalist Dan’s other band the Slaughtering  with whom he plays guitar. Saturday  will be Thrash heavy with   Halberd   and  the aptly named  Thrash  Mob  along with one man battering machine Heart Ripper .  And  that's  just the Dev... UK Death Dealers Present in association with London Metal Coalition: The Road to London Metal Pride. Signiture Brew, Haggerston 06/12/25

Gay Pride 2025 was the first ever London Metal Pride event, celebrating queer musicians in the scene. The Metal and Hardcore scenes have seen rise in non-binary, queer and trans folk in recent years so having a stage during the summers biggest LGBTQ+ event is as integral now as ever before. The event in 2025 was hosted by LMC member and Davghter Front-woman Izzy and showcases queer and queer aligned bands battling for a place for the 2026 London Metal Pride. Five bands compete (was six but one pulled out) with London True Trans Black Metal band Davghter as special headliners. But it’s the punters who will decide the outcome as each have been given a voting chip to be placed in ballot boxes after the fifth band finished. Opening contenders Scene It All delivered some punchy late 90s/early 00s nostalgic Emo Pop Punk.
