London Gig Guide 01/05/26

 Last weekend saw me ambling in a semi ‘with it’ state back and forth to the Dev in Camden. All the bands were awesome and finally got to see Burnt Chapter who I keep missing. They played in an intense set joining Symbyote as future household name for Extreme Metal. Halberd brought the Thrash with Thrash Mob and Heart Ripper opening with his one-man Death Metal barrage. Thrash Mob were fun and really embrace the old school style with riffs, and drum and guitar solos. 1986 on the Sunday ended the weekend with their Hardcore influenced Death Metal. Hearing them play Black Mirror live was a highlight.

A lot going on this weekend especially with Incineration taking over Camden on Saturday. I’m not going but at the moment I cant decide what to do instead. Thinking about hitting two gigs so I can catch Grifter and Karnivrous in Holloway then leg it/limp/stumble it across east London to Signature Brew where I'm supposed to be going anyway to catch Symbyote and Detoxen. Either way means sacrificing a couple of sets here and there. Sunday is defiantly going to be Devastator at the Cart and Horses. 

As usual I may have missed a gig or two but feel free to give me a nudge if you know of something even if it's a few weeks from now.

Scouring the internet to keep the Metalheads entertained over the weekend. Saturday has loads going on including the return of Snuff Fest which ironically most of us thought was dead. W hilst  my personal life currently in  tatters,   it's  been difficult to get my head together long enough to get a blog together. But its Friday,  I'm  suspended from work till fuck knows when so,  going to  hyper focus on this for a  bit. There are three straight nights of  Thrash/ Deathcore / Hardcore /Death Metal   at the Dev .  Symbyote  are playing  Friday and Sunday  supporting 1986  with vocalist Dan’s other band the Slaughtering  with whom he plays guitar. Saturday  will be Thrash heavy with   Halberd   and  the aptly named  Thrash  Mob  along with one man battering machine Heart Ripper .  And  that's  just the Dev... UK Death Dealers Present in association with London Metal Coalition: The Road to London Metal Pride. Signiture Brew, Haggerston 06/12/25

Gay Pride 2025 was the first ever London Metal Pride event, celebrating queer musicians in the scene. The Metal and Hardcore scenes have seen rise in non-binary, queer and trans folk in recent years so having a stage during the summers biggest LGBTQ+ event is as integral now as ever before. The event in 2025 was hosted by LMC member and Davghter Front-woman Izzy and showcases queer and queer aligned bands battling for a place for the 2026 London Metal Pride. Five bands compete (was six but one pulled out) with London True Trans Black Metal band Davghter as special headliners. But it’s the punters who will decide the outcome as each have been given a voting chip to be placed in ballot boxes after the fifth band finished. Opening contenders Scene It All delivered some punchy late 90s/early 00s nostalgic Emo Pop Punk.
